Invasive Species Removal

Posted on 29 May 2025 in News, Events

June 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

MVCA is planning an invasive species removal day on June 5th from 9am to 12pm. 📅at the Watts Creek Pathway in Kanata.

With the spring weather plants are growing and starting to bloom, unfortunately that means the invasive plants are also growing.

Please let us know if you’d like to join us on June 5th for this important task! Contact: kcuddy@mvc.on.ca

This public pathway follows a part of Watts Creek that runs through the NCC’s green belt.

Our goal is to pull as much Dog Strangling Vine and Garlic Mustard as possible from a section right next to the creek. This section was recently replanted with native trees and shrubs as part of a larger restoration effort.

The Pull location is approximately 0.6 km down the Watts Creek Pathway from the road-side parking at Corkstown Rd.
