Camps, Tours & Facilitated Programs
MVCA is dedicated to delivering meaningful education programming that fosters a deeper connection to the watershed. We are keen to assist community members of all ages in not only understanding how to safely enjoy the nature around them, but how to participate actively in sustaining the beautiful watershed and wetlands in which they live.
March Break 2025 - Slide into Adventure Camp
When: Monday March 10, 2025 - Friday March 14, 2025
Program Hours: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Early Drop-Off (additional fee): 8:00am or after
Late Pick-Up (additional fee): 5:00pm or before
Where: Mill of Kintail Conservation Area

Ages: 6 - 12
With spring just around the corner, and winter at it's end, this camp will include educational and fun activities that coincide with the changing seasons in the watershed. Activities will include: snowshoeing (or hiking), campfires, scavenger hunts, survival skills, animal tracking, and more. We will include topics such as cold water/ ice safety, and watershed stewardship.

Come join us for our exciting and educational PA Day camps. Each month, programs will change with the seasons to incorporate fun activities that are engaging and informative! Snowshoeing, scavenger hunts, survival skills, stream studies... and activities that touch on important topics such as watersheds, water safety, and wetland wildlife!

Summer 2025 - Outdoor Adventure and Nature Camps
When: Weekly, July 7th until August 22nd, 2025 (no camp on holidays)

Each week, campers will enjoy a variety of nature-themed games and adventurous activities at our beautiful Mill of Kintail location. Each day will include time spent playing, learning and exploring in the forested trails, stream, and fields. Our goal is for children to enjoy time in nature, have a blast, and learn something new about the wild world. For major activities, campers will be split by age groups as needed to ensure age-appropriate levels of play!

School Groups - Watershed Education
We welcome educators and their classes to one of our beautiful conservation areas for a day of exploration, curiosity and outdoor engagement! Working with teachers to meet curriculum goals, activities will be focused on outdoor education, connection to nature, and a deeper understanding of the watershed. Teachers can choose from a variety of seasonal activities and programs.
Full-Day Program (4.5 hours)
Where: Mill of Kintail Conservation Area
For full use of our Education Center, Museum, and buildings, the M.O.K is the primary booking location. But, other locations can be booked as desired.
Typical Timeframe: 9:30am - 2:00pm (2 90-minute activity blocks, and a lunch break)
Half-Day Program (2.5 hours)
Where: Mill of Kintail Conservation Area
For full use of our Education Center and buildings, the M.O.K is the primary booking location, but other locations can be used as desired.
Additional Location Options: Morris Island Conservation Area, Purdon Conservation Area (seasonal).
Typical Timeframe: 10:30am - 1:00pm (90-100 minute activity block, plus break or lunch)

Facilitated Program - Site Visit
We offer facilitated programs directly at client locations and schools. This is not exclusive to schools, and we welcome private bookings from any type of organization, club or business within the watershed. Topics can include: an 'Introduction to MVCA', watersheds and wetlands, seasonal themes, and more. Contact us today to discuss your booking.

Guided Site Tours - Conservation Areas
Guided tours will occur year-round at our beautiful conservation areas. Tours will focus on seasonal themes and will offer specific information on the history, natural landscape, and special features of our locations. Tours will also offer opportunity for community engagement, networking, and socialization.

My son loved this camp! We have tried several camps before but this has been the only one he really enjoys and has asked to go back there. Thank you!! Will be registering him for the summer next year.
