About Widow Lake
Widow Lake is situated in the Township of Lanark Highlands, in Lanark County. It is one of the headwater lakes of the Clyde River system, in the Mississippi Valley watershed. It has an elevation of 190 metres above sea level. The perimeter of the lake is approximately 5.5 kilometres, with a maximum depth of 6.1 metres.
Widow Lake supports a warm water fishery, in particular; Yellow Pickerel, Northern Pike, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass.
At last count in 1983, there were 14 cottages on the lake.

Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority and its partner, the Mississippi Valley Lake Stewardship Network, are taking action through Watershed Watch, a program designed to protect and enhance the environmental health of lakes within the watershed. The monitoring results are posted as State of the Lake Reports. Each lake in the program is sampled every five years.
