About Clayton Lake
Clayton Lake is located in the Townships of Lanark Highlands and Mississippi Mills. It has an elevation of 161 metres above sea level. The perimeter of the lake is 13.5 kilometres and the deepest point is 10.7 metres. Clayton Lake supports a warm water fishery, in particular; Yellow Pickerel, and Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass.
As of 1965 there were 34 cottages, 1 (3) resorts, 70 campsites, and 3 vacant lots on the lake.

Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority and its partner, the Mississippi Valley Lake Stewardship Network, are taking action through Watershed Watch, a program designed to protect and enhance the environmental health of lakes within the watershed. The monitoring results are posted as State of the Lake Reports. Each lake in the program is sampled every five years.
